The secret to extracting more power from the GX range of engines lies in improving the carb system. There are a range of products which can be bolted on to gain more performance, from a larger GX200 Honda carb or even a GX390 Honda Carb, to an aftermarket carb such as the Mikuni 22mm Carb.
The Mikuni carb does provide the best performance increase however when compared to the Honda Carbs they can be harder to set up and more weather sensitive.

Note: Depending on your level of tune some re-jetting may be required. We recommend changing your Emulsion Tube to the GX140 Emulsion Tube (Part Number: 16166-ZE1-005), and your Pilot Jet to a #40 Pilot Jet (Part Number: 99204-ZEO-0400). We then recommend running your engine and changing your Main Jet to either Richen or lean the engine as necessary. The larger the Main Jet the Richer the engine will run.

Allows a performance Air Filter to be fitted to a GX160 or GX200 carb. This requires the removal of the restrictive honda Plastic Air Cleaner allowing greater airflow into the engine.
